A “Digital Media Workshop” Was Organized by UİMAUAM in Cooperation with the Department of Culture and Communication Sciences.

The “Digital Media Workshop,” organized in cooperation with the International Communication and Media Research Center (UİMAUAM) and the Department of Culture and Communication Sciences at the Turkish-German University, was held on March 12, 2026, at the Creative Media Laboratory (YAMEDLAB).
The speaker of the workshop, journalist and author Cuma Obuz, shared his experiences with the participants on digital media production, content development processes, and the transformation of journalism within the contemporary media ecosystem. In the first part of the event, which consisted of two sessions, issues such as journalistic ethics, disinformation, and verification processes were addressed through case analyses. In the second part, discussions focused on journalism in the algorithmic age, the impact of digital platforms on news production and distribution processes, and the structural transformations that journalism faces in the new media environment. Conducted with an application-oriented approach, the workshop enabled students to evaluate current approaches to digital media practices and to engage directly with professional experiences from the media sector.
